Everything Mbopu Upendo Group (MUG) does stems from a simple belief: when women and youth are empowered through their bodies, their culture, and their environment, communities transform.
The Project
Mbopo Upendo Group will buy footballs, volleyballs, netballs and kit so women and youth in Dar es Salaam can take part regularly in football, volleyball and netball.
The Issue
Members of this Tanzanian community group currently have too little usable sports equipment to train or compete regularly in football, volleyball or netball, limiting fitness, teamwork and social participation.
The Project
The grant will fund essential equipment and uniforms, enabling MUG to run regular training sessions, friendly matches and community sporting events.
The Impact
The project expects to directly benefit at least 50 women and youth members and reach over 300 more in the wider community, strengthening healthy habits and social cohesion.
