Argyle Community Trust’s vision, along with its national partners, is to be an active, inspirational and inclusive community hub for the South West region, providing disadvantaged groups with opportunities to explore their full potential, and improve their life chances and aspirations through the power of football and Plymouth Argyle FC.
The Project
Argyle Community Trust will run weekly football and peer-support sessions in Plymouth for men affected by baby loss, a group often overlooked by existing bereavement support.
The Issue
Baby loss affects hundreds of families in Plymouth each year, yet fathers are often overlooked by bereavement services and, particularly in male-dominated industries, face strong stigma around seeking mental health support.
The Project
The project will deliver 24 weekly football and peer-support sessions for at least 15 men affected by baby loss, aiming for 70% to attend regularly.
The Impact
Argyle Community Trust expects measurable wellbeing improvement for at least 65% of participants, evidenced through surveys.
