Trailsilvania is a non-profit organisation from Cluj, Romania, whose mission is to build and maintain a sustainable system of mountain biking trails, to promote this sport and to encourage the community to enjoy its benefits. It strives to build strong relations with local authorities and other stakeholders to ensure the future of mountain biking in the local region.

The Project

ACS Trail Silvania will build Romania’s first inclusive mountain bike singletrail in Cluj-Napoca, designed to welcome beginners, families, women and seniors currently excluded by technical trails.

The Issue

Cluj-Napoca’s existing mountain bike infrastructure is either expert-level technical terrain or monotonous forest roads, effectively excluding untrained riders, women, families and older residents from the sport.

The Project

The project will build the first two loops (6.67km) of a modular, inclusive singletrail network through Pădurea Faget, with gentle 2-5% gradients, full signage and a rest station.

The Impact

By 31 May 2027 the club aims to have the trail open and recording at least 500 unique users within its first 60 days.
